On Thursday, police in Burlington arrested Jose Romon Corea, 33, following an investigation by the Alamance County Department of Social Services, by which it was determined that a 12-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted.
The Times-News reported:
According to Burlington police warrants, Corea did “carnally know and abuse a juvenile,under the age of 13” between Jan.1 and Thursday.
Corea has been charged with first-degree rape and is currently being held at the Alamance County Jail on an ICE detainer.
Of course, throughout the majority of Mexico (including Mexico City) the age of consent is only 12 years of age, according to Mexican federal law.
